Student Assistant Application

We employ a sizable team of Student Assistants. However, every semester we say goodbye to a few of those due to graduations, internships, foreign exchanges or otherwise. This is a good opportunity for us to offer the opportunity to work at the Makerspace to more students every following semester. This is why we continually accept applications for new student-assistants throughout the year. You can send one in any time. If you’re interested, leave an application and let us know why we should invite you to a follow-up interview!

The student-assistant position is great way to make a little money on the side during your studies for those students passionate about designing, building, and generally all things making. The role involves greeting and assisting visitors, running production on the 3D printer farm and laser cutter labs, maintaining and cleaning the workshops, and contributing to the Makerspace goings on in general. We hire for one semester first, with the possibility of extensions into that 1,5 to 2 years maximum length.

What we look for: Candidates should be enthusiastic about making and be able to convey that passion in their application and interview. A willingness to learn, proficiency in English writing and speaking, and available for two shifts weekly are hard requirements. We don’t specifically need you to be an expert in any one field yet, but we strongly prefer that you have a few personal projects under your belt, be they creative, technical or both. The more ‘maker’ disciplines you can show us you experimented with, the better! Either way, the Makerspace is a great chance to learn on the job in a diverse and creative environment!
