Table of Contents

Are you passionate about making, designing, and helping others bring their creative ideas to life? The Hanze Makerspace is looking for new Student Assistants and Interns to join our team starting September 2025!

Whether you’re looking for a part-time job or a place to do your internship, this is your chance to work in a hands-on, international, and creative environment full of tools, projects, and inspiration.

🛠 Student Assistant – Part-Time (8 hours/week)

As a Student Assistant, you’ll work two 4 hour shifts per week. Your tasks include:

  • Running production on our 3D printers, laser cutters, and other machines
  • Assisting fellow students with their creative and technical projects
  • Helping out in spaces like the VR room, sewing room, and media lab
  • Maintaining and organizing the workshop and production areas

We’re looking for students who are passionate about making and enjoy helping others. Ideally, you’ve had some experience with 3D printers, laser cutters, or other maker tools, but don’t worry if you’re still learning; we’re happy to teach you on the job. You must be comfortable speaking and writing in English, eager to develop your skills, and (flexibly) available for 8 hours per week during the semester.

This is a paid position.

🎓 Internship – Hours Based on Study Requirements

As an Intern, you’ll join the Makerspace team for around 20 weeks, working the number of hours required by your study program. You’ll perform the same day-to-day tasks as our student assistants, with the addition of working on your own internship design or research assignment.

Your tasks include:

  • Running production on our 3D printers, laser cutters, and other machines
  • Assisting fellow students with their creative and technical projects
  • Helping out in spaces like the VR room, sewing room, and media lab
  • Maintaining and organizing the workshop and production areas
  • Working on your internship assignment

We’re looking for interns who are passionate about making and enjoy working with others on creative and technical challenges. Experience with tools like 3D printers and laser cutters is a plus, but not required, we’ll teach you what you need to know. Strong English speaking and writing skills are a must, along with a willingness to learn and the ability to meet the hour requirements of your study program.

This is a paid internship.
