The Fabrication Lab of the Hanze Makerspace features an open workspace, a variety of 3D Printers, arts & crafts supplies and more.

Tools and Machinery #

Inside the Fabrication Lab we have a variety of different machinery and tools for visitors to make use of. The types of machinery present are listed below;

3D Printers #

  • 10x Prusa MK3S+ | Our standard Fused Deposition Modeling (or FDM) printers. They feature a print-bed volume of 25 × 21 × 21cm (H × W × L). The filament types we use are PLA, PETG, ABS and TPE, with PLA being your most commonly used plastics.

  • Form 3 and Form 3L | Our Stereolithography (SLA) printers that make use of special blends of Resin rather than spools of plastic. The Form 3 features a print-bed volume of 18.5 ×14.5 × 14.5cm (H×W×L), and the Form 3L has a volume of 20 × 33.5 × 30cm (H × W × L).

  • Fuse 1 | Our Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) Printer. It uses Nylon powder to create strong and long-lasting prints. This printer features a print-chamber volume of 29.55 × 15.92 × 15.92cm (H × W × L).

Vacuum Former #

  • Mayku FormBox | Our desktop vacuum former that is ideal for making molds or custom packing materials. The vacuum former uses 0.5mm sheets of plastics that are completely recyclable, and even partly made from recycled plastic themselves. The maximum size of the vacuum former is 130 × 200 × 200mm (H × W × L).
